Peace Center at Nangarhar University celebrates International Day of Students.

October 17 is globally celebrated as the International Day of Students. Nangarhar University celebrated it in an academic fashion. It was initiated by NU Peace Center, though.

This celebration was joined by Vice Chancellor for Students Affairs Assistant Professor Sayed Akram Hashimi, NU Peace Center Coordinator Assistant Professor Naeem Jan Sarwary, the Master Trainer for NU Peace Center Dr. Mohammad Dost Safi, Communication and Youth Focal Point Junior Lecturer Ahmad Jamil Popalzai, and the students-cum-members of NU Peace Center.

 The ceremony was opened with the speech of Vice Chancellor Assistant Professor Sayed Akram Hashimi. He wished a happy International Day to the students and regarded them as the future of Afghanistan. He thanked NU Peace Center for making efforts in continued initiatives for the capacity building of the students. He also praised the students who gained many achievements as the representatives of NU Peace Center and Nangarhar University.

Then, NU Peace Center Coordinator Assistant Professor Naeem Jan Sarwary wished them a happy international day of students and added that students have many responsibilities. Therefore, with taking full advantage of the opportunities available at university, they should strive to improve their personality. He also urged the students to be mindful of the fact that country needs them and its future was associated with them. He appreciated the efforts of the members of NU Peace Center for always celebrating such kind of important international days.

In the same tune, the President of Male Youth Peace Club Mr. Izatullah Munsif and the Vice President of Female Youth Peace Club Naznin Momand related their success stories. Consecutively, Qudratullah Miakhail, Gul Mohra Sidiqi, Basmina Momand, Zabihullah Zaran, Musa Noorzai, and Sheela Afghan put on presentations on different topics. On the other hand, Manizha Ghafoorzai, Mansehra Rasooli, and Sajid Sangar read out short stories. In addition, Meena Safi read aloud her poem to the audience.

The event concluded with the evaluation of the event by Junior Lecturer Ahmad Jamil Popalzai who regarded the event very beneficial for the students and the participants.
