• Vision of Horticulture Department

Initiating development in the production, processing, marketing and export of fruits, vegetables, flowers and medicinal plants at the national level by providing highly qualified and professional bachelor and post graduate students.

• Mission of Horticulture Department

1. Avoiding the cost of studying abroad by providing study opportunities for bachelor and master students at the national level.
2. Efficiently utilize the resources of the University and relevant stakeholders to enhance promotion and development.
3. Identify and address problems and gaps in the production, processing and marketing of horticultural crops through planned and conducted research projects by undergraduate and postgraduate students and demonstration of best practices to farmers.
4. Facilitate qualitative and quantitative fruits, vegetables and medicinal plants production via building of the capacity.
5. Maintain food security and improve livelihood standards through production, processing, storage and marketing of horticultural products.
6. Efficiently utilization of  current facilities and resources.

• Importance of the Horticulture Department

5. Providing services to the community with commitment, knowledge and professionalism.
6. Teaching, research, employment and academic progress of academic staff in accordance with the laws, regulations and relevant legal documents of MOHE.
7. Sustainable utilization of resources and technologies available to the Faculty of Agriculture.

8. Provide textbooks, books, magazines, journals and arrange technical seminars for experts in the field of horticulture.

10. Cooperation and coordination with relevant stakeholders and work for finding grants and support from stakeholders.
