Nangarhar University celebrates Constitution Week.
At the celebration ceremony of Constitution Week, the speakers discussed the history, content, necessity, sovereignty, implementation, and value of the Constitution.
Chancellor of Nangarhar University Professor Emeritus Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsoodwal, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammad Hamed Kadwal, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Assistant Professor Sayed Akram Hashemi, Deans of different faculties, professors, and administrative staff attended the meeting.
During his speech at the event, Chancellor Behsoodwal mentioned the Constitution of Afghanistan as matchless superior to the constitutions of the countries in the region. He said, "The Constitution is our national security, we are committed to its implementation with all the applicable laws, and we expect our countrymen to be cooperative to the political system for the implementation of the Constitution." Chancellor Behsoodwal said that the development and prosperity of the society depends on the rule and implementation of the law and he added that it is the responsibility of universities, academic and civil institutions, the media, and the knowledgeable people of the community to provide public awareness of the law and the benefits of implementation and sovereignty; and to go hand in hand with the system in this regard.
Professor Emeritus Dr. Israr al-Hai Munib, the Dean of the Sharia Faculty, spoke about the importance and necessity of the Constitution. He regarded the constitution as a representative of the beliefs and culture of Afghans. In addition, it has ensured the rights of all people in a very good way.
At the last part of the event, Junior Lecturer Abdul Hadi Zamani of Law & Political Science Faculty put on presentation on the Constitution, which discussed the history, content and challenges in the implementation of the constitution. He also answered the questions of the participants.
The meeting was evaluated by Assistant Professor Sayed Akram Hashimi, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Nangarhar University. He regarded this and similar programs and events as effective for the implementation of rule of law and insisted on continuing this series of informative events.
