Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Deans of Sharia and Journalism Faculties, six professors, the Directors of Committee for Electronic Learning and Information Technology, and Media Center of Nangarhar University were praised with Appreciation Letters by the Ministry of Higher Education for recording and broadcasting 4 university subjects along with Islamic Culture Subject.
In this connection, a gathering was organized at the Chancellor’s Office at Nangarhar University. The attendants were comprised of Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education Associate Professor Ghulam Dastagir Khawrin and the Director of Public Relation, Publication, and Information at Ministry of Higher Education Mr. Aziz Ahmad Oriakhail beside Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and Professors of Nangarhar University.
In his opening speech, Chancellor of Nangarhar University Professor Emeritus Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsoodwal welcomed the deputation from Ministry of Higher Education and thanked the Ministry for trusting Nangarhar University in recording and broadcasting Islamic Culture and other university subjects. In addition, he also expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the appreciation of the completion of uploading and broadcasting the recorded subjects. He added, “Nangarhar University has Doctoral and Master’s Programs. Therefore, with having talented Professors, it promises to record the courses of other sciences if Ministry of Higher Education demands”. Chancellor Behsoodwal also put on the presentation regarding academic activities, achievements, issues, challenges, and future plans of Nangarhar University.
Next, the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education Associate Professor Ghulam Dastagir Khawrin said, “With accordance to the decision of Ministry of Higher Education, Islamic Culture subject should be shared with all those universities of Afghanistan that face shortage of instructors through Electronic Media. This responsibility was assigned to Kabul and Nangarhar Universities. Luckily, Nangarhar University successfully accomplished the first round of this process”. Professor Khawrin, beside thanking the Chancellor and professors of Nangarhar University, imparted information about different aspects of standard online teaching to the audience.
Then, the Director of Public Relations, Publications and Information at Ministry of Higher Education Mr. Aziz Ahmad Oriakhail shared the message of His Highness Acting Minister and Deputy Minister of Academics Senior Lecturer Abdut Twwab Balakarzai. It was consisted of cordial appreciation for the Chancellor and Professors of Nangarhar University, and the importance and needs of online teaching and learning.
Dean of Sharia Faculty Professor Emeritus Dr. Israrul Hai Muneeb, Professor Emeritus Sayyid Ahmad Fatmi, and Assistant Professor Sherzad Azizi were the other speakers. They talked and shared their views about the subject matter and presented their recommendations to the deputation.
