According to the Officials, the aim of such competitions is to promote mental development and reading in the students.
The competition was in the commemoration of Eid Miladun Nabi (Swallallaho Alaihi Wasallam), organized by the Cultural Committee of Sharia Faculty. Chancellor of Nangarhar University, Vice Chancellor for Students Affairs, Head of Nangarhar University Cultural Committee, Deans of Sharia and Medicine Faculties, professors, and students participated in it.
In the opening speech, Chancellor of Nangarhar University Professor Emeritus Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsudwal talked about the importance of competitions among students, and regarded them as very effective for the mental development of the students. He added, “It is a pleasure to see our students of Sharia answering the questions of Chemistry and Biology, and the students of Medicine responding to the queries of Hadiths and Fiqah. This gives us the buoyancy to exclaim that Nangarhar University graduates the students equipped with both Islamic and national values”. Chancellor Behsudwal also thanked the Cultural Committee of Sharia Faculty for organizing the competition. He emphasized that such competitions needed to be extended to other faculties.
Vice Chancellor for Students Affairs Assistant Professor Sayed Akram Hashimi, Dean of Sharia Faculty Professor Dr. Israrul Hai Muneeb, Dean of Medicine Faculty Professor Dr. Nasar Khan Kamawal, and the Head of Cultural Committee Lecturer Sharifullah Wayand were the other speakers. They all talked about the importance of educational competitions.
Then, the competition started and at the end, the students who answered the questions correctly were awarded books.
