Some Parliamentarians visit Nangarhar University

Mr. Ameer Gul Shaheen, the Head of Religious, Cultural, Education, Higher Education, Hajj and Endowment Commission of Ulasi Jirga, along with some members inspected Nangarhar University. The Officials and Professors of Nangarhar University shared the problems and hurdles of the university with the deputation in various gatherings.

Chancellor Professor Emeritus Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsudwal talked to the deputation about the activities, achievements, and challenges of the university during the meeting. Chancellor elaborated, “Nangarhar University is a grand academic center on the country level that has produced more than 32 thousand professionals in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs for the service of the countrymen. However, this alma mater is now facing numerous challenges”. He added, “Lack of cadre positions, deficient budget, lack of educational facilities for the students, occupation of 64 hector university land, lack of classrooms, and many other issues are the problems that have impeded the way of university’s progress”. Chancellor Behsudwal also thanked the members of the deputation for visiting Nangarhar University beside asking their support in the solution of the long standing issues of the university.

Mr. Ameer Gul Shaheen, the Head of Religious, Cultural, Education, Higher Education, Hajj and Endowment Commission of Ulasi Jirga, regarded Nangarhar University as the second largest university after Kabul University, and expressed his pleasure at the latest developments and achievements of the university. He also assured the Chancellor and Professors of Nangarhar University that the deputation would approach the relevant ministries and institutions for raising the issues of Nangarhar University and they would make appropriate steps for the solution of the issues.

After the gathering, Chancellor Behsudwal led the deputation to visiting some construction projects at the university.
